Dimitar has more than 20 years of experience in capacity and organizational development on five continents, implementing programs funded by diverse donors including the World Bank, USAID, the European Union, Global Affairs Canada and the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Before joining International Medical Corps, he worked as a Field Manager and Capacity Development Advisor supporting the Productive Safety Net Program in Ethiopia.
He also managed multimillion-dollar capacity-development programs strengthening governmental entities, private sector organizations and NGOs in Afghanistan, Somalia, Timor-Leste, Iraq, and Central and Eastern Europe. Dimitar has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from New Bulgarian University and a Master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Dimitar also has several certifications in training, coaching and organizational development, as well as extensive experience training trainers and developing capacity in practitioners.
